Ovinity is a company dedicated to expanding access to technology thought the application of rigorous user interface design techniques.
So often new digital technologies offer the possibility to solve problems of all scales and yet so often the promised functionality is lost though poorly designed user interfaces. The humble video cassette recorder is a good example, offering the possibility of recording programs while we are out, then coming up with cumbersome user interfaces which make even setting the time correctly a near impossibility. From mobile phones, to general computers, the possibilities are endless yet so much new technology fails to deliver.
Typically there are two communities, the technical experts who want more 'power' and 'speed', and skilled designers who can fantasize interesting ideas which may not be feasible or only at some not inconsiderable cost.
We at Ovinity believe that user centric design leads to good product development. This is hardly a controversial though, none the less in practice it is so hard to join both worlds of, careful consideration of the user, with the necessary understanding of fundamental possibilities of the technology. We believe that Ovinity has this balance of skills, and we intent to exploit them.
